Parliamentary Committee Members Visited Tribal Museum at Tribal Research Centre Campus on 08-07-2023.
Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu Thiru. R.N. Ravi visited the Tribal Museum at Tribal Research Centre, Campus.
Ministry of Tribal affairs, GOI, New Delhi & Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamilnadu, as part of the celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, organized an awareness campaign on 23-11-2023 about Sickle cell Anemia at Erumad,Gudalur in Nilgiri District. The aim of the program was to create awareness about sickle cell anemia among the Paniyas, Kattunayakan, Kurumbas tribal communities.The event was hosted by the Tribal Research Centre, Udhagamandalam, Tamilnadu, in collaboration with the Microbiological Laboratory, Coimbatore. The medical team from Coimbatore conducted tests to analyses the participant’s T3, T4, TSH, Vitamin D (total), and Vitamin B12 levels. Around 171 people from the three communities took part in the camp and got tested. The results of these tests will be compiled and documented by Prime Medicare and the report will be handed over to the Government of Tamilnadu for further actions and medical interventions.

The interactive Puppet show awareness about sickle cell anemia in Kappala GTR School and some villages in Erumad area.
Tribal Research Centre offered live demonstration of Toda Embroidery, Kota Pottery and Two Stalls(Tribal Products) in National SC-ST hub Conclave Programme on 23-09-2022 at Thanjavur
On the occasion of India's 75th Independence Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 9th National Tribal Handicrafts Festival (Live Demonstration and Sale of Products) held in Odisha state from April 23rd to 29, 2022 on behalf Tamil Nadu 3 tribal women belong to Toda tribe were selected by Tribal Research Center and sent as sales agents in the ceremony along with Liaison Officer. A total of 62 tribal handicrafts and 200 stalls were set up in the festival. Among them, 3 Toda tribal women has won a First Prize. As a gift amount of Rs.5000, a shield has been received for the Tribal Research Centre and the tribal women who attended the ceremony personally met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru.K.Stalin and received the congratulations and appreciation for the first prize for Toda embroidery has a tribal handicraft in India.
